I just took my truck and a friend with a 325/600 fully stock and a full size v-10er went to the eagle lakes, off hwy 80 near the donner summit,by indian springs?. our trucks barely fit, also pretty rough up there. if you dont want to scratch your truck, there bring a chain saw. we had a good time but you have to go real slow. bottomed my reunel rear bumper out a couple of times and scrubbed my tires on plenty of trail junk.

I took my '99 down to the indian springs campground many many times... even towed a trailer down there. The trails all the way back up the river are navigable in a SWB CTD if you're careful. If you take the trail past the gravel parking lot where the bathroom is and go until you see the 3-way split, then stay to the right, that's Fordyce Creek Trail... mucho fun in the Jeep, but way to many serious rocks for most CTD.

I have a 2001 quad cab, zack's truck is an 04 4 door short bed, and the gasser is a quad cab short bed. we all made it up past the idian springs camp ground. Were you talk about the split in the road, we chose to go to the left toward grouse ridge trail, and went to the end and camped. I guess grouse ridge trail is a walking trail, cuz there sure is no roads beyond were we stopped. we did find some bridge that crossed the river or creek were we swam and drank beer.

then leaving this site, and finding a new camp site and trail,i got hit by a uninsured motorist :( in the front tire, rolling my axle under the truck, disabling me. f*@king the rest of my trip, and month.
