hello, i have been thinking about getting the rokktech crankshaft sensor

to advance the timing, because i hear that that gives you better milage which is the results that i would like, some people claim they get about 1-2

miles per gallon more, so that sounds very good. but my question is what

is the down side to this in short and long term?.

i also heared that dodge retards the timing for EMISSIONS purposes so if that

is the case and i get the sensor to advance the timing, does that bring the

time advance back to normal ? any input is greatly appreciated.

I put one on my 05. In honesty, I can't say whether or not I'm getting better mileage. Empty around town I get 18. Pulling my 30' fifth wheel at 65 mph I get 13. I remember thinking it has a little more "diesel" sound to it right after i put it in but don't know now, still missing the rattle from my 02'. I read the same thing about the timing retard thing. That was enough for me to try it. Break even point for 1 mpg is going to be quite a long time.
