Actually at 48 inches that is pushing 5 feet. Now that I think about it it wasn't nose high on me, it was more like chest which is about 5 feet. My mistake

The Donaldson has about half the backpressure of the stock muffler, and double the noise. This has about one tenth the back pressure (even less at certain RPM) and just a hair louder.

I had a Donaldson 51" on my 03 it was more quiet than their "Silent Partner" I tried before that. I am really enjoying the 05's quietness but am all for less back pressure especially if it is indeed more quiet than the 51" Donaldson.

It almost hurts my ears when I do that in the cab, i can't imagine how loud that guys ears are rining!
which doesn't sound a hair louder to me, maybe the pre muffler is even more quiet than a CAT and the Silent Might.

Matt, the pre-muffler I use in my sound clip is an Aero-turbine, which I don't believe to be any quieter than the catalyst.

I'm sure that as more of these mufflers get out there, you will one day hear one, perhaps from inside the cab also. Until then, all feedback I have is positive, and I'm sure if you rode in my truck you would not even know it has an aftermarket muffler in normal traffic. It's only when you get full fueling that it starts to "sing" and then it is lower than normal conversation level, even at full throttle.

The other thing my truck does have is a resonated (perforated core) exhaust tip that extends slightly past the sheetmetal.

I replaced my stock exhaust with the aeroturbine about 15,000 miles ago, along with a scotty air intake. I left the cat. The combo was a definite improvement. However, the noise level is finally getting to me. idling is fine, but any throttle and you hear it. I live in the mountains and just going up the hill is loud, not to mention pulling my camper trailer. Did the Rokktech quiet it down a lot? How is the performance? As good as the aeroturbine alone? Thanks for the reply

Hi Paul,

Thats impressive to know, I may have to give it a try as I would like better flow with no noise, the 51" Donaldson I tried on my 03 ended up over time being more noisy than I wanted. It didn't get louder, I just tired of it.

At first it was cool but after hearing a stock truck go by I was disappointed and wanted quiet once again.

Where did you find such a tip?

Same setup

I installed the auroturbine first because it was a good deal and the promise of better performance, but I could not keep my foot out of it so 'I never really noticed a difference. I finally got sick of the noise and I saw this product. I am happy with the results, no drone. (I am using both) I mainly use this truck for towing in the mountains.

I'm using the same setup but it is still too loud, especially when towing.

When it comes down to noise levels the stocker is best but if you can sacrifice a "little more" noise for much better flow I still think this muffler is as quiet as possible while still giving good flow IMO.

4" Silent Might and 4" down pipe for sale

I used the muffler for 3 months and the down pipe was never installed. $200 for both. If yours is stock 3. 5" a bell is required and clamps. If interested drop a message.

On my 06, I left the cat and also the stock resonator over the rear axle and installed the Silent Might in the "quiet" position, internal openings to the front.

It's virtually as quiet as stock except for a VERY slight growl at about 12-1400 rpm

and my turbo spools a lot quicker now

and stays spooled longer between shifts. There is no drone anywhere, anytime. The quicker turbo response is worth the effort even if it took 2 mufflers to do it. Have you called the Roktek guys direct? Maybe they could advise on whether it really needs a resonator for your truck.
