Roll-N-Lock Covers-Anyone?

I am also looking at going with this cover for my new truck. Would you do me a favor and measure from the top of your bed rails to the bottom of the canister? Also is your truck a long or short bed? It may make a difference in the size of the canister.

I don't have the cover yet - still making my mind up. I did read that the box (canister) is 11" x 11", I think. That's a little larger than the Roll n Lock. I have a long bed.

Wow... You reached back a few years to pull this one back up again.

Another thing to consider is if you live in an area that gets below freezing in the winter. The ROLL-N-LOCK doesn't like being washed when its cold out it. Water gets frozen in the track,and god help you if you forgot to unlatch the gate before washing !! #@$%!

I installed one on my 2003 2500 with no problem. Works very well. You do need additional rails (adapters) for the front half of the bed. These were included. Recently traded (last week ) the 2003 for a 2006 Mege. Company says it is the same set up. The dealer would not increase the value of the trade for the cover so it was OFF in a flash. Will install after bed liner is sprayed. Had no problems with it and looks good still but I was good about dressing the vinyl. Will paint the rails pre install just to brighten them up.

PS: live in the snow belt, stays out all winter, Have had no real problems with freezing as long as I keep a coating of silicon spray on the tailgate locking strip.

RJOL that's the one I'm thinking of buying. The only concerns I have with it is will the surface stay looking good, how do you maintain it (wax it I suppose) and is the box noticably bigger than the Roll n Lock?

I've had mine on for a year and it is just as bright as the day I put it on. I just wash it with car soap. My truck sits out in the Northwest weather all the time. The box is a little bigger then the Roll N Lock, but it doesn't take up that much space. Now if you're thinking of using a camper or what a bed mounted fuel tank then these covers don't work. Also, the rails never need lubing, unlike the Roll N Lock I had in my 2001.

I have a long bed dually... It measures about 12" from the top of the rail to the bottom of the canister...

I got a Bak Industries roll top on my 05. Have had it on for about a year.

The whole thing is powdercoated instead of vinyl covered and was mounted over a Line-X over the rail sprayin.

There is a piece that holds the slider open every 12" and that has started to crack.

Other than that Ive been happy with it.
