Ronald Reagan has passed away

God Bless President Reagan, I remember how excited I was to see him visit Austin back in '83 - '84, boy he gave a great speech. The liberal fungus that clutters up UT Austin was frenzied with hatred at his appearance, boy it was a good time to be a conservative Republican in that town.



I don't think Molly Ivins, Ben Sargent, and the rest of that crowd have ever recovered from the indignity.

I can remember his speech to Gorbachov (sp). TEAR DOWN THIS WALL! The man had a vision for our country, he lowered taxes and at the end of his second term had increased revenue tri-fold. This was the set-up for the 90's. RIP Ronnie.

He had a similar problem that Bush has.



He took over a failing economy from Carter. Double digit interest rates ring a bell? Parents lost a farm because of it in '83.



He cut taxes (a VERY good thing). Federal spending has gone up at the same time (a VERY bad thing). In Reagans case, he was also building up the military that Carter cut down (same as Cliton did). With Bush, he has WAR to handle. Not mention all the pork spending that Bush and the rest of the goverment is wasting.



I do agree about the gun bans though. Should be eliminated. All they (gov't) want to do is regulate law-abiding citezins. They won't stop criminals. Criminals get them anyways. Just need to enforce the laws already on the books. Not make new ones.

Yes, I know what you mean. Democrats are the worst thing in this world... literally, no offense ya'll. They just have this thing called backwards thinking that makes no sense... . He did take on a bad economy, and he did make it better in a way. Reagan did do some good stuff, I was too little to remember. The gun bans just burn me though. . I dont know if the berlin wall falling was such a good idea either... Otherwise he wasnt so bad... . Better than Clinton, when he kicks the can, i will be thowing a party!!! Oo.

We can also thank President Reagan for welcoming our Vietnam Era Vets home and bringing recognition and a sense of dignity to them. RIP President Reagan.

I was at the Missouri Foxtrotter Spring Celebration show at the world headquarters when the announced it. They immediately dropped the flags to half staff for the duration of the event. He was the ONLY reason the economy was good in the 90s. But I dislike the gun bans also.
