Hello every one, ready to clean the roof on my 2001 carriage 5th, can some one lead me to a good cleaner conditioner, some one told me that dish soap with out petrolium in it works good, or just buy an rv solution , thanks, also what brand of chaulking for the roof?, thank you for your input

I do my Jayco eagle twice a year and for the life of me can not remember the name of the cleaner I use. Old age is hell! I bought a gallon of the cleaner and an "armor-all" type protectant from Camping World specifically for rubber roofs. I put the solutions in spray bottles, climb the ladder and go to work. I use 2 Rubbermaid sponge type mops, one for the cleaning and one for spreading the protectant. Doesn't take all that long to complete this task. In at least my situation, this has all but totally eliminated black streaks down the side of my TT. I also wax my TT with Meguirs Boat/RV wax twice a year (spring/fall)(Mine is fiberglass sided). The nose of the trailer gets waxed more often as I use Simple Green to get the bugs off and I imagine the Simple Green pretty successfully strips the wax off. Anyhow, nothing like a pretty gray diesel ram running down the Interstate with a shiny 29 foot Jayco in tow!

Dyco is the mfg. of the caulking for rubber roof. They make several so read on rth tube to be sure you get the right one. I had a Carri-Lite w/rubber roof, anything with petrolieum in it will definitely ruin the roof. Don't ask me how I know. bg

I used Simple Green until I discovered the ease of using Mr. Clean's "Magic Eraser". Then follow that up with a double wax job.

I am trying the new "ICE" by Turtle Wax. The instructions say that the only thing to NOT use ICE on is glass. Works great on black rubber and plastic! I found it is not so good on chrome covered plastic - I use a real chrome polish there anyhow.

Sure made my truck shine. I used it on a portion of the TC and will complete TC before my trip in a couple weeks.
