Since I got the truck in 2001 I have had a leak from the lights. When new dealer screwed with it. Then I did installing the new plastic washers below the two screws. It may go few months more leaks the boom it leaks from the center console on the roof streaming out. Then it can rain hard and no.leaks for weeks. Usually parked in driveway same angle. Anyone else have this problem.? Thanks:{:{:{

I had a similar issue with the 3rd brake light. Gaskets would last a short while then leak. I used some clear permatex. Pencile around where the lights meet the body, blue tape to the pencil marks, remove lights, appy thin coat of permatex, reinstall the lights, smooth down the permatex and remove the tape. Hasn’t leaked since.

Check to make sure there are no cracks in the lenses themselves. Had that problem on my '03. New gaskets with silicone and they still leaked. Had 2 that were cracked allowing water to trickle through and in where the bulb comes through the roof.

I've had a few that leaked on both of my trucks. I wonder if the 3rd gen lights will work on a second gen? I like the base seal on the 3rd gen lights much better. I put sealant around my 2nd gen lights and sealed the screws too. Its best to use a good quality clear silicone. On my 2003, I replaced the cab lights with the current OEM offering and they sealed up fine, been there for around 5 years. I used clear silicone before on the black truck, but they wouldn't stay sealed like my old white truck. So, new lights fixed it.

eBay has a few different OEM sellers, be careful to get the actual OEM quality ones from a Mopar seller. The cheaper no-name lights suck. Geno's has them too: https://www.genosgarage.com/category/cab-lights-third-brake-lights

I'll try to seal mine. I see Geno's are 32+ each. I don't think any are cracked. How and can you can get console on roof off can you see in to the lights?

I see the newer lights have a screw front and rear rather than side to side. Probably seals better.

Used silicone bead on bottom of gaskets re-installed lens after buffing them and roof. Replaced original bulbs and put di-electic grease on sockets. Replaced the plastic thread nuts on two lights that is all I could get. Stainless steel screws fit the new inserts not the old ones. Had to reuse old screws. Silicone around screw head and new nylon washers. Hopefully problem done after 17 years. LoL

****** I could only get enough inserts for two lenses.

Sorry I missed latest post before you re-installed them. I would have suggested applying a quality clear coat to them to help ward off future sun fade. Could always mask off and paint.
