Competition Sled-pulling video!!!

Alrighty Gentlemen, I have said I'm gonna pull the 22nd of next month. I've never pulled before... but watched many many videos and read as much as I can find. The one thing that I can't seem to find is what kind of hitch do you guys use? Pintle? I had heard take 2 U-bolts... a pintle hitch a couple spots appart... heat them, bend them and then weld them together... . I have no idea. What do you guys use, and how do I build it or buy it... .

Thanx

Josh

Go to any 4x4 shop and have them get you (if not in stock) a Warn reciever plug with a shackel attached. They sell them for using with a jerk strap and they work great for pulling. Make sure you use a solid plug not a tube!!!!!!

What about height? Somewhere I read that there is a height max and min. I think I might be over the max if I just put a reciever and a shackle on the beast.

26 inches is usually the max.

Even with 33" tires I was only @ 24" on my truck

You can use a 4" drop drawbar flipped over. Get a ¾" twist clevis with a 3" inside (so the hook will fit) stack washers on top and under the drawbar to take the slop out between the drawbar and the clevis. This should get you close to the hitch height you need.
