Cummins owners: Has anyone had experience with Shell Rotella Diesel Fuel additive? I ran across it at a Sam's Club. I think it was about $33 a case. I sometimes use Stanadyne, but have never seen the Rotella additive before. Comments appreciated.

Rotella DFA

I went to their website and read about the additive. Seems comparable to Power Service. Anti-gel to -40 f

www.rotella.com

They are also offering a mail in rebate:

$ 2. 00 on 1- 96 oz. jug

$ 4. 00 on 1- case of 32 oz. bottles

$ 8. 00 on 1-case of 96 oz. jugs

I'd be willing to try it.

Anyone ever read about Duralt ?

www.buyduralt.com

If it's good enough for Harleys it's good enough for me.

Eric :D

Saw this at Sam's Club today for $33. 00 for 4 96OZ bottles. Came home and read your thread and did some math, with the rebate that I just printed out from the Shell web site (thanks) it works out to 2 cents a gallon. Enough to treat my truck for 20,000 miles. I'll be going back to Sam's Club tomorrow to pick up a case.

Thanks

Denny

Just read in Diesel Progress magazine that Fleetguard has just come out with a fuel additive. Get this, it is available in 1, 5 and 55 gallon drums. Denny do some math, how long will 55 gallons last?

Illflem

I would say that 55 gallon drum would last 183,333 miles based on my truck getting 16. 5 miles to the gallon. I think it would go stale before I could use it, since I drive around 20K miles per year. By the way what does it cost when you buy it in the 55 gallon drum?

DL, I looked on Fleetguard's website, they don't give prices. With all these new fuel treatments coming out it makes me think that they all might be the same, just different labels.

same product different label?

Good point Bill!

The same hold true with extended life coolant. You can purchase it under a variety on brands including Rotella®, but it is all still Texaco DEX-COOL®. BTW I'm switching to it next year (already have 4 gallons of Prestone on the shelf).

Jerry;

The price is great on that Rotella aditive! Interested in splitting a case to give it a try?

-John

John: Sure, I'll split a case. I am planning on going to Fargo on 11-9-01. I'll see if they still have some on the shelf. I just rechecked the valves on the Cummins yesterday and changed oil. Getting ready for winter. Catch ya later. Out.

Just picked mine up at Sam's Wholesale for

$17. 94 for case (6-32oz. bottles), then

mail in the Rotella rebate for $4. 00.

All I can say is, what a bargain!!!!!!!

Great minds think alike. I just picked up a case of 4 - 96oz bottles at Sams Club for $33. 53 and sent in my $8. 00 rebate. Works out to 2 cents per treated gallon. This should last me until this time next year.
