To answer your question, yes. I LOST about 2 mpg when I switched back to Delo 400. Good oil and I have no fear of hurting my engine, I just couldn't afford the Amsoil for a while. I have the oil now to switch back to Amsoil and I'm changing the entire vehicle out. Front and rear diffs, transfer case, trans, engine. The only thing I'm not changing is the power steering fluid. I'm going to have someone else do that.

I also noticed that it ran smoother and quieter right away. It also takes a whole lot longer to warm up in the winter to get heat into the cab. Thank goodness for the bun warmers.

Does the Rotella Syn stink like the Rotella Dino oil? The stink is my main concern for staying away from Rotella.

I used Rotella dino only once in my Malibu Wakesetter (it has a 5. 7 gasser motor, but still calls for Diesel grade motor oil) and PU! The poor guy I was towing on skiies told me my boat stank like nothing else.

You guys complaining of an oil that stinks/smells are killing me. So, you would possibly not use a good oil because of the smell? Are you kidding me?

You would use another oil that would possibly give your engine higher wear because it has less odor. Wow, you fellas complaining about the smell need to drive a gasser.

I am glad I supply you with so much amusement. I use Delo in my truck and my boat. No smell.

If you don't mind the stink, good for you... now move on...

I have never used Rotella Dyno so I am not aware of any strange odors it may have. I can say that the synthetic Rotella has no offensive smell.

If your boat is a four cycle it would seem that you could run skunk oil and not bother the gator bate that you are pulling around the lake. The oil would have to be burnt or blown out of the motor for any smell to escape.
