Does anyone know if it's ok to run

Rotella 15-40 Synthetic oil in our trucks ?

Is anyone out there using it ?

I have about 19000 on mine and I'm thinking

of chaning to the synthetic vs regular Rotella.

Thanks

Pete

I havent seen the 15w40 Syn oil yet but I have used the 5w40 over the winter with out any problems. I even picked up about a 1mile per gal fuel increase over the past winters with the 5W40. I changed oil on the 15th of April at 10,000 miles and 1 filter change at 5000.

Rotella specs ok this oil for our trucks. I also use the rotella Syn in my Diesel Tractors.

I think Cummins recommands that you have over 25,00 miles before you go to Syntheics. Check this out could be higher mileage figure.

I just bought some...

Going to run it it the wife's town & country too. Cheaper than Delvac 1 and as long as Wal-Mart stocks it, a lot easier to find. :D

Rotella synthetic 5-40 is not a true synthetic, It is a group III oil which is hydrocracked from a mineral base and close to synthetic but not true synthetic. A true synthetic is group IV and V, derived from synthetic base stock.
