ROSMELLA

where is doc t when we need a poll? HOW MANY TDR MEMBERS LIKE the SMELL OF NEW ROTELLA T? maybe a chapter of rosmella t lovers anonymous... ... . hi, my name is herb. i haven't sniffed an empty rosmella t bottle for 3 hours... ... Oo.

I personally don't mind the smell of Rotella. My fiancee hates the smell after an oil change. I've smelled stuff much worse. Go mess with some gear oil if you want some stink... .

PW first you dont drink, then you eat only veggies, and now you hate rotella. The left coast has really messed you up.

i am with tom, rotella smells good.

I have been using rotella 15-40 for about 5 years now and only started smelling it after oil changes when rotella started putting soot control in it. The older rotella doesn't have the smell after oil changes.

The smell after an oil change is the carrier that is used to suspend the normal additive packages in the oil during storage. It prevents settling of the additives. It is supposed to burn off and most all oils have it to some degree. I used Rotella for years, and Delo the last 3 changes. I really cannot tell that one is stinkier than the other, both stink. I really don't mind the smell of either.

One of my hobbies is auto maintenance. I like changing mt oil and I like ot be able to find it whenever I want or need it. Rotella is widely available and reasonably priced. I don't object to the smell either, makes me feel good that I am taking care of the truck. I am trying the Amsoil right now. It did not have any odor after changing like the Rotella.

the cure for this is

Powerwagon. I used rotella for the first 4 changes (10,000 miles, I now have 16,472 miles), I experienced the same results as you did, PEEEEUUUU. Until I went to Amsoil. And am I glad I did, three things happened. 1) The odor went away, and I do not have to wash the inside of the windows as much. 2) The oil has stayed translucent, after over 6,000 miles, not that deep black, after 100 miles with rotella. Some how this does not sound good to me. You change the oil and after 100 miles it’s black, what happened to the clean stuff. Do you see that with the rotella? At the same time I went to Amsoil, I but on the duel bypass system as well, with the 5 micron filter. 3) I can get to the filters, I put them on the front frame just under the radiator, I have a sport truck and the front bumper is deep enough to hide them. I believe it would take less than 5 minuets to change with no mess. But I do not know this because I have not changed them yet. Lots of other things could happen but this is good. Steven

Your oil turned black because it cleaned all of the garbage out of the inside of the engine and suspended it, that is what it is supposed to do. The Amsoil did the same, but the garbage is now in your bypass filters so the oil looks clean.

EDIT: Delo 400 is Chevron diesel oil, good stuff by all accounts.
