In my area, every Wal-Mart store carries it, If not there, every truck stop on the planet has it. If you still can't find it, Chevron Delo 400 is just as good, if not better.

You are waaaay out there Jim!

Did a quick search for Moab--it's far away from everything:--) I can recommend two very good oil brands that may or may not help you, Jim. Case-IH #1 engine oil and John Deere Torquegard are premium-quality oils (non-synthetic) developed by both corporations for (ab)use in heavy-duty off-road diesels. I don't know if there is a dealership of either brand close to you, but you would not be disappointed with either oil in your CTD.

ROTELLA OIL

Jim; Got mine at Sam's club in a 55 Gallon drum size. Much cheaper that way. Sam's also sells it by the 6 - 1 gal case size.

If there is not a Sam's or Wal-Mart in your area, you might check for a Shell bulk oil distributor. Most of them sell the 55 gallon drum size.

I get my oil this way, buy my fuel and oil filters by the case from distributors so I don't have to make a trip every time It's time to change. Also much cheaper in the long run.

Sold my 95 2500 SLT 4X4 Club Cab 3. 54, Pacbrake, Putco SS running boards & fender trim, Chrome Grill & brush guard, Pyro - Boost & trans. temp gauges, vent visors, hood sheild, Alcoa alum wheels, bedliner, tow pkg, etc,etc. My son-in-law and daughter have it in Arizona, looks & runs like new. Wish my 03 would get here. I miss my Cummins Turbo Diesel. :{

CAKUZ, not sure about ROTELLA but with Delo Chevron recommends that the oil be used within one year, the drums are dated. Apparently after a year there is the potential that the oil additives will be at the bottom of the drum. Once that time comes and they decide to fallout shaking the container will only re-suspend the additives for a very short time. I buy by the drum also but go though three a year and don't worry about additive fallout but have seen it on the bottom of five gallon tubs, it's sticky goo that resembles STP.

Additive Fallout

ILLFLEM; I was not aware of this problem with the oil. Many thanks for the info. I picked up empty clean Rotella 1gal containers at a nearby truck stop that truckers had discarded and I put the 55 gal of oil in them within a couple of weeks. I have used all of this oil, but I will be sure to check this out before running out and getting another 55 gallon can of oil for my new Ram CTD that will be here soon. (I hope)

I learn something every day on this web site from a great bunch of members.
