I have just been told by the auto parts store that my front rotors measured out of spec. He said they measure 1. 425 inches. In my Chilton manual it says it can go down to 1. 18. The guy at the auto parts store said on the rotor itself it states the minimum thickness is 1. 465. Anybody know the specs and possibly a source for purchasing new rotors. I was quoted a price of $100 each. The truck has 111,000 miles on it so it seems a little early in the mileage to warrant worn out rotors. Any opinions or experiences?

The minimum thickness dimension is marked on the rotor hub. My 92 was cut on both rotors at 110k. The mechanic who cut them and I thought I might get one more cut to clean. This was the first disc puck change out and first cut on the rotors since new. I'm now at 150k, and the rotors and pucks look fine. Check your rotors for the marking. By the way, I installed H. D. metallic shoes and pucks.
