I assume Brakes is part of Drivetrain?

Anyway, will looking at rotors, I found a really cool High Performance rotor for our trucks.

Aimco Extreme

check these babys out, drilled and groved, different rotor for RS and LS. Around $168 at AutoZone. At least the 2wd version is listed.

Anybody know what the difference would be using this kind of rotor? Longer life or better stopping? (bet you don't get both:rolleyes:

I don't understand? The only thing Autozone can screw up is "looking up the wrong parts" The company that makes Aimco (McQuay-Norris) has been around along time.

Autozone don't make the stuff, they just "mass merchandise" the stuff.

Besides, its the only place I can find my Performance Friction Carbon Metallic brake pads. :)

Check out the Info Page on the Aimco rotors.

I bought a set of Raybestos drums, within a month they were warped just like the ones I pulled off (except the factory ones I pulled off were cracked as well as warped)

TowPro,

You're just too nice call them autozone. I usually refer to them as "autobone. " They have some good parts as long as you get the name brand stuff and have a good tool rental program (read: free). The only things I don't like from autozone is their rebuilt parts. I get all my rebuilt stuff at Napa since they tend to be of higher quality.

I'm going to get my next Performance Friction brake pads from Autozone.

NAPA has the slotted performance rotors available for our rigs. I plan to upgrade my truck to a set and the "Sever Duty" pads when I wear my current set out.

rotors and drums

Are the NAPA rotors also drilled? What are some better drums for the rear? Asking since posted above that Raybestos had problems. Is there a severe duty drum? Vented? Need to do rear brakes this week before heading to TX rally. Going somewhere is fun in these trucks, stopping once you get there is too. :D

James, it's been awhile since I checked them out but I'm 95% sure they're drilled as well. I never could find anything upgrade wise for the rear drums, of course self adjusters that actually worked would be an upgrade
