2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Rotors

Could someone please help. I have a caliper on the passanger side that has stuck and in turn has wore the inner pad to nothing and has got into the rotor. What is required to take the rotor off? I thought the rotors on the 2000 were out board? I have the caliper and the bracket removed, does the center hub nut have to come off?

I believe the entire hub/rotor/bearing assembly needs to come off on the 2nd gens. Others will chime in...

I have not done mine but I helped a guy do his 01 and the rotor was seperate. The only thing holding his on after you take off the wheel was friction, rust and a few little round keepers that fit over the lug bolts. Not sure if an 00 is the same or not though

Rotor is separate, Caliper and bracket off, keepers off the lug nuts smack it off with a hammer.

I can't remember it they were like the '98s or not. If they are, you have to remove the hub and bang the lug nut studs out. This sounds like a pain, but it isn't that bad. Just remember to bang them back, flush, into the new rotor. Don't do the old reverse lugnut impact trick. They won't pull flush until your doing 70 mph, on alligator alley, 75 miles from the next shop. Ask how I know this. Fortunately I was able to tighten the remaining five lug nuts onto the bent studs to get home. Good luck.

on my 01 they pop right off. Have to take the caliper and the caliper bracket off of the truck. Maybe they are just rusted on from the back side? some heat and/or tapping with a BFH should break it loose. I dont think that there was anything different between the 00 and the 01 models but I could always be wrong.
