Rough idle and smoke

So I am new member but along time Dodge owner. A little history to maybe help diagnosis the problem. I have 2007 Ram 5.9L, it has 189,000 miles on it. Drive into LA 5 to 6 days a week so I put about 50,000 a year on it. Pulling the Grapevine. Last week when I arrive at work I always let the turbo cool down before shutting down. I started it about 30 minutes later and it ran rough and smoked. I gave it some throttle and it quick and I went about my day. It's happened every day now for the last 4 days. Not sure where to look or if I am having an injector issue. I replaced the FCA in the begin of this year.

Sounds like an injector sticking. Try some Diesel Kleen, ATF of a sea foam treatment.

I should have added I use Amsoil diesel injector cleaner and cetane booster as well.

Also to add it idle smooths when I first start it in the morning. It's only after I have driven it to work does it idle rough but give it a little throttle and it goes away.

First thing to do is get it scanned for codes with a scanner capable of reading Dodge codes. You might try an injector cleaner to see if that helps and a heavy dose of injector cleaner to see if it is maybe getting gummed up. More than likely it is an injector failing but try the cleaning first to see.

I have a scanner and no codes as of yet. I will try a heavy dose of injector cleaner but I am afraid its time to replace the injectors.
