Rough Idle "help"

Help, my truck has recently started to idle a little rougher than stock and sometimes the idle sticks around 1000 rpm and the only way to get it down is to let out the clutch in gear.

I unhooked my Edge EZ and checked all my wire harness plugs but it is still rough.

When it idles high, turn on the A/C, does it go back to normal? When my FCA went bad, that was one of the symptoms.

What does FCA stand for?

Fuel Control Actuator. It lives on the back of the CP3 pump.

Around 70K miles my truck developed a rough idle. I changed the fuel filter and filled the filter canister with a can of Sea Foam... rough idle went away! I suspect it was deposits on one, or more, of the injectors. Since then, I have been adding Cummins Valvoline Injector Cleaner at every fill up and, knock on wood, rough idle has not returned!



... never understood 'knock on wood'... .

You probably have either a fca going bad (most likely would have a code) or your have an injector sticking, run the truck up in neutral to 1700 rpms and see if the truck shakes real bad.
