How many of you guys carry a spare fuel pump?

Worth it to remove Cat in 2006?

I'm currently experiencing a rough idle at start-up that clears up after a few seconds and a couple taps on the pedal? Could it be only a fuel filter since it's still original. It doesn't occur once the truck is warm. Otherwise the truck runs extremely well.

I suppose it could be the filter, but I'd rather suspect a loose connection somewhere that is allowing it to get a bit of entrained air in the fuel system when it's sitting. Once that little bubble goes through, it runs fine, but while it's there it will make it run rough until it clears.

There is also a TSB for rough idle at startup but I can't recall the number. I had similar symptoms to what you describe and thought "injector", but the TSB flash cleared it up. Just another alternative.

At 16000 my 2006 had a rough idle just like what you have described. Dealer installed two injectors. I am contemplating sending mine out for testing and 50 horse nozzels.

The truck is not a daily driver. I went out today to start it and no problem. So it is an intermittent problem. On the next oil change, I'll probably just take it to the dealer and get everything checked out. They should be able to determine if I have a injector failing or if its a TSB.
