Noticed the last couple of days the idle at start up is rougher than normal. Started her up this morning and walked around to go back inside and got a face full of white smoke. the smoke stopped after a few seconds. its probobly 65* outside so temp is no issue and I have already had the 18-037-04 reflash.

Any Ideas? She runs great after she warms up a little.

thnx

joe

i had the attack of white smoke and rough idle also after the tsb installed(never really had it that bad before) also noticed that the exhaust smells like there is more unburnt fuel than before - mpg's are worse(could be cold weather though) i got the cruise control high idle feature though and a smoother auto shifting pattern

leaking fuel injector or injectors, just had one replaced only took five visits to the dealer and three call to dc . No smoke or rough run for four days now!!!

If I could only get the launch shudder fixed it would be great.

From what I've read here, it's defective injectors & you have to go harass your dealer to get it fixed.

I have terrible smoke on starts, even after the flash. It stumbles so badly at times I can hardly get the F$%$^# truck to move in 1st gear if I'm under 1000 rpm's. Ain't that just great :( Unfortunately, my truck is my livelyhood & I am having much difficulty even finding the time to go back to the stupid dealer again. I got rid of my old truck because I didn't have time to fix things anymore. So I just rev the **** out my new one to get thru the trouble spots. Its funny, at times it works just great & other times its definately just runs like a big POS.....

Went to my dealer ths afternoon and they slapped the computer on the truck and done and injector test. Injector 1, 5, and 6 were showing over 100% at idle. STAR wants to run a test with injection pressure at max and anothet test to confirm injector problem.

I'll take it back in next Thursday when their diesel tech gets back from a STAR/Cummins class here in Corpus. Mechanic said he would pick the brain on the Tech at the class to see if what we think is wrong is really the problem.

Ill let yall know next week.

Sure keep us posted on all the details. My next trip to the dealer I would like to go heavily armed w/ knowledge.

BTW, After about a 30 minutes drive today, the engine started to stumble again (under 1500rpms) so badly the whole truck would shake! This is NOT a lugging situation. I can keep it at higher rev's when this happens but on a flat road, not towing anything, its ridiculous for a truck w/ this amount of torque, especially if you want to conserve fuel.
