First post here. Thanks to Ken of TDR administration for fixin' me up.
I had Airlift 5000 airbags put on the rear-end to accomodate my slide-in camper and other heavy loads. They are installed on top of the factory camper overload springs. The ride(when empty) is real rough. I am ready to replace the factory shocks and hope this will be the solution. I've also heard of a leaf spring dampener/shock mechanism, but can't remember the name of it. I need opinions on proper shocks for my setup and also the dampener mechanism. I run about 10-12 psi in the bags when empty, but it still bounces pretty good. Any help here is appreciated!

Try running about 40 psi front tire pressure and 25-30 in the rear, if you're not already doing so. That should cancel out some of the bouncing.

Lordsman:

I have the same setup you do. I drop tire preasure down to 45 rear and 55 front and have RS 9000s shocks front and rear. Ride is somewhat smoother, but worth the sacrifice for the capablity and handling when towing the 15K lb 5th wheel.

Airlift instructions mentioned ride might be rougher keeping the factory overloads. I kept them on as extra insurance in the event of airbag failure.

Hope your ride gets better.
