I put a fuel filter on my neighbors 1990 truck .

I seen something that my 1990 engine dont have . It has a probally 4"

round cylender thats mounted on the passenger side of the block by the turbo

What is it ????? it apears to run towards the water pump .

I never seen it before what is the purpose why did they quite useing it ?

Yep, only the auto trans trucks have them. Actually its a fluid-to-fluid heat exchanger not a cooler. The cooling system acts like a heat sink to pull the bulk of the heat out of the fluid because its more efficient than the fluid-to-air coolers.
