Printer Broken....

IP Telephony

I currently have all of my computers behind both routers. Your printer can be attached to one of the computers, which will act as a print server for the rest of the computers in the network. This isn't real difficult to set up if you're using XP. It even works with my wireless laptops.

If you have all the documentation for your DSL router, and it's clearly spells out what todo to use it with a router. Then you should be ok.

Linksys's instructions will be clear.

If not, and you have the likes of a Best Buys that has computer geeks for hirer, buy from them and have them set it up. The rest of the networking will make sense as you go through it and learn by trial.

Let me say, it's all well worth the effort. Don't shy away from it. It just might be worth a few extra dollars up front to get the help and have someone help you through it.

Unfortunately the only documentation that was in the modem box is a basic sheet on how to hook it up. I think i am going to buy the linksys and go for it. if i have problems I will contact my ISP to find out what settings i need to adjust the modem to work with a router. If all else fails, i will just go the "geek for hire" route. LOL

Your ISP might even have the info or a turorial on line.

Might want to check out their website before you disconnect the modem.

a geek for hire in your area should have delt with it before a few times over, so it should be save money

You have a problem with Cisco??
Yep. Great marketing company. Poor engineering, and very poor integration of their acquisitions. Most grating is their arrogance and "if Cisco doesn't do it then you don't need it" attitude.
