Routine Maintenance Schedule

On going thru the routine maintenance schedule, i again came across the (clean water pump weep hole) entry which I have previously ignored because I could not locate it. I know it has to be on the bottom of the pump body. Now, its beginning to bug me. Pray tell, do I need a minature mechanics mirror or a borescope to locate this thing. What are the pros or cons on this inspection item TIA

A mirror helps. Once you see it you will find it easily again. When it starts to weep your water pump is getting worn.

I have been checking mine since 75000 miles and I have noticed that there is a build up of white chacky in the weep hole but i have never noticed it dripping coolant, is this normal? I have carryied a spare with me just in case. Any comment on what it might be? I thought D/C mech might have added some stop leak to the coolant for some reason.
