Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Royal Purple Fact or Fiction

Changed all my fluids from front to back to RP a couple of weeks ago. Never saw my MPG screen in the truck read better than 20. 6 in over 11 years. It is now on 21. 8 and still climbing. This is my work truck so my weekly trips have not changed during the life of the truck.

Go figure!!!!!!!!

That's good news, track it on paper for awhile & see if the improvement is really there.

One word of caution, if you have a 6-speed be careful, a couple TDR members have lost or damaged their NV5600 using the trans/gear lube RP because it's too thin for it.

good advice vaughn. get one gallon of royal purple synthetic syncromesh sae50 transmission fluid and mix it with one gallon royal purple 5w 30 synthetic syncromesh transmission fluid and fill the 5600 one quart over full.

175k miles on RP in whole truck with no issues, I love the stuff!!
