Magnuson-Moss Fair Trade Act
If the '*******' is going to void warranty on a trans for anything but the "factory fluid' then by the Fair Trade Act, the fluid has jsut become part of the warranty and must be provided 'free' for the length of the warranty.
RP Synchromax has proven to be an excellent alternative to those with the NV5600 looking for some improvement over the stock fluid. RP Synchromax has not been involved in any warranty disputes.
If you are in a situation where the factory has jsut replaced a faulty NV5600 with a new transmission, my recommendation would be to run the fluid that the '*******' wants to be run. On the other hand, if you have 10,000+ on a transmission and are just not happy with the shifting, give the RP Synchromax a try. It has helped out many who were not satisfied.
The Fair Trade Act also requires that the manufacturer, in this case DC, can not void a warranty just for the use of an aftermarket part but must 'prove' that the use of the aftermarket part was the cause of the failure.
Use what suits your situation, but lemmings that are afraid to move away from factory recommendations should be happy when falling over the cliff with all the other lemmings content with factory performance levels. Crappy paint, fuel level guages that don't work, throttle cables that fray, rear windows and brake lights that leak, frames that crack, etc. to name a few.
