Have Been Seeing Alot Of Talk About Engine Oil's As Of Late And Didn't See Anything Listed On How Good Or Where Royal Purple Comes In On Testing And Everthing Else ,

Anyone Have Any Input On Royal Purple ? Used It Last Three Oil Changes , I Used To Run Amsoil:-{}

Why the switch

I just switched to Amsoil, but i went from dino oil to synthetic... ... ... ... ..... just curious as to why you switched?

JUST EASIER TO GET AND MY GUY SCOTT AT MASSDIESEL ALWAYS GIVES ME A HELL OF A DEAL. I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE IT STACKED UP AGAINEST ALL THE OTHER OILS THAT WERE TESTED FOR OUR 5. 9 DIESEL.

" STILL NO ONE HAS COME BACK WITH ANY INFO ON ROYAL PRUPLE ?:confused:

If Gear lubes made by "Royal Purple" are ANY indication as to how their Engine oils stack up against the Amsoil, look at this comparison:

AMSOIL - A Study of Automotive Gear Lubes

As an example of "Shear Stabiliy", the Royal Purple was the only gear lube to fail both the initial Viscosity requirements and the KRL 20-Hour shear stability requirements. It was above the requirement of a SAE 90 before the test, yet after the 20 Hour test was well below the minimum requirement of a SAE 90 gear lube, losing 40. 6 Percent of its Viscosity. It did fairly well in the 4-BALL wear test, but failed miserably in the "FALEX ETREME PRESSURE" test.

I've been getting everyone that I work with to try royal purple and eveyone that has tried it, is really impressed. I pulled my rear end a part looking things over and doing a brake job on my Dually about two weeks ago and I've had royal purple sence 80,000 miles and I now have 144,000 and everything looked great! Amsoil is a great product to, but I've had royal purple in 3 of my trucks and the wifes super charged Rivera and everyone of them have ran better after the RP and quiter after switching, so I'm sticking with it... Just my experiance with it...

FWIW, I saw a fuel mileage INCREASE going from 75w90 Mobile 1 to 85w140 Royal Purple...

I also use RP 85w140 in some small lawn and garden-type equipment... it is night and day difference in the power required to mow a yard or till a garden... and the gear boxes run a lot cooler as well.

The only product I wasn't impressed with was RP's Synchromax in my NV5600.
