Several months ago, I noticed my engine RPM's slightly surging while driving at a constant speed. I can sort of "feel" it more than "see" it - but if I look at the tach there is a slight increase in the RPM's for a few seconds then it drops down to the regular RPM almost immediately. This first started happening when I was having a problem with the a/c condensor coil -- it went out and I was driving without the a/c. I decided to wait to get it fixed and hoped that it was somehow related. However, after having it fixed for a couple of months now, it seems to be starting up again. It makes no difference whether the a/c is on or off -- it still hiccups.

I suspected that it might be a dirty fuel filter so I changed that out but there was no change in the occurence of the hiccup.

Has anyone else had this experience and how to get it fixed?

Thanks,

Joe

I did'nt see your trans type on your post, but my 98 auto did the same thing with rpm's with the transmission kicking in and out lockup. Wound up being the throttle positioning sensor. good luck.
