The truck has only done it twice in the last 3 weeks. Codes were 1689 and 1693. My truck is a 2001 3500 5spd 2WD. Mods are Edge Comp, Fass 150 and full autometer gauges. I am still on the original VP44. Truck has 85k miles on it.

Any opinions?

Thanks,

Sean

i get the same ones. I believe my ecm is bad, wiring & plugs were checked. Truck runs ok, just can't load smarty. Should have some bucks for a reman ecm in spring. I have the same year with 150k miles more...

Well If I have to put a vp44 on it I am gonna go ahead with SPS62 and some dragon injectors from Industrial Injection. Might as well get it done all at once:) The stock clutch wont last long, haha.

I hooked my hidden kill switch to the ground wire side of the fuel relay. Cut wire and ran to and back from switch. If I forget to turn the switch on , truck does not run and codes 1689 & 1693 . I your fuel relay has dirty contacts , these codes will show. Relay is cheap and the old one can be used as a spare, if it is not the problem.

Disconnect the Edge Comp box, and see if it still does it. Just turning it off won't do it. I have know a few others that had the same problem, including me.

Disconnect the batteries for 30 minutes with the head light switch on. Turn lights off and connect the batteries. Turn the key to run and slow depress the go pedal to the floor and then back up slowly. Turn the key off. Good to go! SNOKING

The fuel relay is good, since the fuel pressure has never been below 15psi. I have disconnected the edge comp and it hasnt duplicated. Codes cleared on their own and has been running fine. I will call edge after thanksgiving.
