Competition A Texas truck in the mid 11's?

Competition Texas/Oklahoma Sled Pull

Well dang, Tim I try to be nice and get burned!

If speaking the truth is propaganda, I guess I'm a trouble-making propagandist. (Is that a word?):D

Silly me, I thought we were all the same page, having fun with Diesel trucks, and educating the public.

Let's not forget that NHRA tech inspectors were reminded last year that the NHRA rules WILL be enforced. Apparently it was fairly common practice for NHRA techs in the PNW (and possibly elsewhere) to 'let things slide'. This might explain some of the problems folks have with drag racing rules: NHRA have rules, but they aren't enforced, so NHRA is good; but DHRA have rules that are enforced, so DHRA is bad. Rules are written to try to ensure the safety of racers and fans both, to protect the property of the dragstrips, and to promote exciting, dramatic, fair and equitable competition. I don't think any sanctioning body produces rules just to produce rules.

As to the origin of the NHRA rule change, I don't think NHRA would have accepted any of the PNW folks' rule change suggestions based on their word alone. The SFI-approved DHRA rules carry more weight specifically because they are SFI-approved.

SFI approved our higher crankshaft heights because they agreed with the reasons for the different heights. Similarly, they accepted our RPM-based requirements for blankets, balancers, et al, because there is far less centripetal energy at 4500 RPM than at 6000 or more RPM; HP and E/T are irrelevant in this matter.

DHRA had a lot more input in this rule change than a lot of folks might think.

Rhonda, would you be so kind as to cite the references you mentioned (with links, et al)? Also, would you please post relevant quotes from your communications (written, email) with NHRA where they stated who submitted suggestions and how NHRA weighed those suggestions to come to their decision? Also, could you please cite where DHRA 'swoop in and take credit for every single thing that ever happens anywhere'? If this is true, I will effect changes and put a stop to it. Credit should be given where due, and taken only when due; I will not tolerate anyone within DHRA taking undue credit. Your heart's in the right place, and I would hate to see you exploited by a few people with ... personal agendas.

Too funny... ... Are you building a chart? "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. " (Deming, Dr. E. , 1983).
