Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) rtv for pto cover...

I'm about to change my transmission fluid and was planning to remove the pto cover to clean the magnet. What color rtv do i use when sealing it back up. seems i read somewhere to use the grey, or is black just as good.

I Have Found The Black Is The Best For Almost All Areas I Would Use Black .

black or red rtv is good..... just clean the surfaces good and youll be on your way

Use acetone or paint thinner to clean off all of the oil. RTV won't stick to oily surfaces. As long as it is high temp, it doesn't really matter which color. Cummins and Navistar use grey, but black, red and blue work good.
