Hello

I am going to change my rear diff fluid soon and would like to know what others are using for RTV to reinstall the factory cover (Mag Hytek out of reach for now).
Also the instructions on most RTV'say to let it skim over, then assemble. I have done more than one intake manifold, water pump, etc. and always put them together "wet".
Opinions on this method?

Thanks

Eric, putting it together wet is fine just use your favorite sealant and you will be fine. By the way mine has always been put back together wet. Regards Pete

I think you meant to say "skinning". I usally put it together wet.

A tip: I have found Permetex ULTRA BLUE works best. Its blue with almost a metalic look to it. You want a sealer thats highly resistent to OIL. Permatex Ultra Blue claims to be 3 times more resistant to oil than regular blue silicone. This has worked great for me. The orange stuff
leaked for me.

The last thing you want to do is pull the cover off, because its seaping lube from the sealing surface. #ad
