Since the search mode is down i will ask a question about fuel lines . My truck wouldnt start today with out alot of cranking . After having to do this twice ,i decided to push the priming button untill i could here the by pass valve work and then it would start up ok . I pulled the longer of the two fuel lines out and it was all cracked and did have a small leak in it . This is the one that runs under the intake manifold . Is there a special fuel line to use or will regular fuel line from an auto parts store work ? Arnie

Diesel guys: I'd like to read a little feed back on these lines too, as I'd like to change mine before I have any trouble with them. I looked at the black J30 rated diesel hose for around 80 cents a foot and also some blue Aeroquip hose at around $2. 50/ft. The Aeroquip hose was for gas and other fuels..... so is this blue stuff suitable for diesel as one of the other fuels? I could not find a specific number/letter rating. Thanks for any sources and answers.

Checked with one of my customers who sells the AEROQUIP blue and it is diesel rated and virtually indestructible. I have some in varying sizes to install some pre filters for an auxillary tank and used it for replacing some of the existing fuel lines. It is some of the best IMO. If you have any questions you could call Samson Industrial @ 225-343-4567.

I've had to replace the fuel return line twice. The most recent time was about a year ago, and I found some substantial fuel line that had "USCG" (among other things) printed along the length of the hose. I was told that this stuff is going to go the distance. Time will tell.

Since I haven't looked at mine yet, what size are the hoses in question and how long (how much to buy)? Before I take off for Florida next month I will be going over everything and, at 110K miles, I figure the hoses are due.

Also, any p/n on the Aeroquip line?

Thanks for the info.

redramnc: The return line is 5/16 and the supply line is 3/8. Thanks, Pwknapp for the input on the Aeroquip hose. They don't have 5/16, so I'll get 3/8 for both return and supply. That's what I want... ... . indestructible!

redramnc: I think you need about 19. 5 inches for the return line, and the supply line is shorter. I'm getting 24 inches for each line, but I don't think I need that much. We'll see. I plan on doing it when the fuel filter is removed for replacement. Good luck.
