You won't believe this.....

Diesel Scent

Tonight I'm driving to the next town and I come up to a modified Duramax (I say modified cuz I saw some kind of "Hey look I have this in my truck" decal above the Duramax emblem). So I cruise on by, then she cruises by me, then we come to stop light, so I hit the pacbrake and Bertha hisses to a stop, then we're off again. As we are accelerating I noticed that the chevy seems to be holding back, like waiting for me to catch up, I have a 5 speed and I was starting in low and in no rush, so I'm slowly picking up speed, then the chevy takes off  smoking me out! Haha, this did not sit well with me because I was really admiring this fellow diesel (not many of us here) and this bee-atch goes and tries to smoke me out. Now anyone of you would destroy her in a real smoke contest but I was like:eek: "How rude!", now when I see her again she's gonna get a smokin back, the best I can at least. Oh now it's on, and she had a kid riding in the bed, how stupid is that? She deserves to get smoked! Starwheel all the freakin way forward, anything I must do to teach this, husbands truck driving, child endangering, chevy driving (oooh the worst:eek: ) witch what SHHHMMOKE TDR style is all about! Hell yah I'm irked. Okay I feel better now, man TDR should start charging by the hour for sessions:) .

It's not so funny when it happens to you, is it? I think little miss Diesel hurt your ego a little. But just think of the good story she gets to tell her husband/boyfriend, how she smoked a Dodge today..... I'm sure he will be very proud of her. Probably even made for a interesting night of whoppy?

Hmmmmmmmmmm, I think y-knot might be on to something here. What goes around comes around. She probably got smoked once so now she`s joined the club of smokers and she`ll help others to join the group too! :-{}

I think it's HILARIOUS when someone smokes me out! I laugh and laugh the entire time I'm waiting for my chance to show them what a real diesel is made of. Had a guy in a PSD work truck who lugged it away from a stop sign ON PURPOSE because he saw me behind him. I finally got the chance to pass him (after he had smoked me good for 1/2 mile) and gave him a thumbs up as I went by... when I got in front though, things changed... . box to 5x5, brake to the floor, soot-pedal to the floor. I don't think he had a good view of the road for about 300 yards, and he was anything but smiles when he went by me at the next stop. :)

Hey, you gotta let 'em have their glory when they can get it. I mean, she smoked a very mildly BOMBed Cummins and is proud of herself... I don't get happy about a smoking until the guy has at least 350 at the rears, and the more the marrier!

I'm sure he will be very proud of her. Probably even made for a interesting night of whoppy?

Ah, "smoke happy sex"! NOTHING COMPARES!!! The ex g/f used to HATE my pickup with a passion... always telling me how dumb I was for spending so much money on it, etc... . finally one night I was too drunk to drive and I let her have the controls (she'd never driven it before... was scared of the power). I reached over and told her I was turning up the braking power (like she'd know the difference) and maxed the Comp to 5x5. As we came around a corner I told her to open it up and see what she had... . I seriously think that when the tires quit spinning and her head bounced off the head-rest that she just about smiled! :) After that night, every time we'd go out she'd say "Smoke that tool in the ricer!" Or "look that Furd's got gauges... race him!" Or she'd roll down the window at a stop-light and look at the D'max sittin' next to us and say "Wow, you wasted a lot of money on that thing!" Yes, nothing compares to "whoopy" in a BOMBed Cummins with a gal who loves the smell of burnt diesel! :)

Bwaaaahahahahahahahahahah AAAAAAhhhhhhaaahahahahaha ... ...

Er I mean umm ... ... . HA HA!

Josh... ... . you lucky sum ***** :p

Kalaehina take your rack stop out and put your #11 all the way forward. That will give you some smoke to play with! Oo.

hey, y'all didn't catch the "Ex g/f" part, did ya? LOL. She has since gone her own way and I mine... .

The new g/f doesn't really understand my pickup yet either, and her Dad really doesn't like it. Turns out that one day Denis (w/ other pickup in signature) decided he needed to race her Dad in his pickup... well, when he went by him at 110 MPH with his hair on fire he promptly told my now g/f that she was to never ride with Denis... EVER! Then, recently he asked me if my pickup was as fast as Denis'... I said "Well, almost... I have to slow down to let him keep up!" Little did I know about the previous incident he had with a BOMBed Cummins... . soon found out that I needed to keep my mouth shut about my pickup being "quick" around him. :) Chevy guys... they'll do anything to keep ya away from their daughters... . ;) :D

Yah, I can swallow this better now, I have this really bad road rage, really bad, so I don't like to egg things on much, I've been in too many chases on the freeway, young and stupid stuff. I wanted so bad to down shift and catch her up, smoke her what little I could then God knows what next so it's better I did nothing. I forgot to mention last night how cool it was to see this, just kinda miffed cuz I was genuinely admiring another diesel. Oh well now I can laugh at it, not forget it but I can giggle to myself how I got smoked by a girl..... gee at the very least I hope she was cute.

I'm still asking myself that, after 4 years still not forward, somebody slap some sense into me! Hey while we're on the star wheel subject, does it only smoke only at start ups or anytime when the wheel is totally devirginized... ... ... ... (loose).

not sure exactly what you're asking... loosening up the tension on the AFC will cause the fuel to come on MUCH quicker (requiring less boost to move the arm forward). and when you romp it, it'll belch a bunch of smoke. (it also serves to help spool the turbo up quicker)

Forrest

You answered my question, I was wondering if it would only smoke on start ups, but it'll smoke anytime I get on the accelerator hard, sounds good to me. Thanks

yeah, it shouldn't really effect the smoke on start ups... just keep an eye on the rearview, and you'll learn to control the smoke quickly... and you'll also learn that if you want to give somebody a cloud to chew on, to take your foot OFF the accelerator and THEN floor it! :D (slows the turbo down so it makes more smoke till the boost can cover it up)

or you can add injectors and a plate and make smoke all the time! :p

Forrest

Yep Mark, I remember you gave some info about it once. What does it do in the pump anyway? Did you notice any cons of removing it? Or is it just one of those "don't need it's"? Thanks bud... ... .

Ahh... it depends on if you can handle the excess smoke or not. You can run without it, I have for quite some time. Just don't lose it. Try it, if you don't like it reinstall it. ;)

Any big effects on mileage, or can you "control " it with less gas pedal pushing?

Hit the nail on the head... . control you MPG with your right foot. More smoke = less milage ;)

With the crappy mileage I'm getting I'm considering putting mine back in! but I think I"m having overflow valve probs  Something has been wrong ever since Dodge replaced my return lines.
