An update to a earlier post about my truck running away on cruise, could not stop it with brakes or disabling cruise. Shut the key off.
This all happened last Feb. on the way to Seattle from Anchorage. I tried getting it fixed at Dodge dealers in Dawson Crk, BC; Vancouver Wash & Casa Grande, Az. (a real poor dealership IMHO). After 4 more run away episodes I finally got the new part installed in Anchorage Chrysler-Dodge.
Trying to get a problem solved while on the road is next to impossible. I stayed in Az. an extra 10 days to get an appt. and they still botched it up and had a poor attitude doing it.
I have only run 400 miles after installing the new APPS. Hopefully this will cure it.
The seat gets real greasy when you can't stop your truck.

I had pretty much the same problem with mine but only when towing. It would accellerate considerably when going up a hill then after topping the hill, the thing wouldn't release. I had to threaten to go to the NHTSA to see if I could get the Feds to force a safety recall before they would fix mine. Replaced the control unit and pretty much took care of the problem.

Ramboy..... What controler did they replace and did it stop the problem?
I called Chrysler in Mich. and they were pretty relaxed about the whole problem.
My run-aways happened also when towing,a 36' King Of The Road 5th whl, except for one time in Feb.

Problem NOT solved. While coming home today, w/5th whl, it ran away again. This time hitting the brake released the throttle. Usually that does not work.
To answer the last question; the only positive way to stop the acceleration is to turn off the key. We all know what happens to the brakes and steering then.
I am disappointed now as I still have the problem.
Anyone got any ideas it would be appreciated.
