I read the owners manual today and discovered that the xfer case has Typ. III automatic transmission fluid. Is that correct or did I misread something?
Also want to change the diff. , rear Dana 80 & frt. Dana 60. to synthetic. Any suggestions on brands? I know it needs to be GL-5 rated. My driving is anywhere from subzero in Alaska to Mexico and towing a 14k 5th whl.

1980, W200, regular 4 door crewcab, 360 gas, auto, 68k original miles, 4 coats of Zeebart but losing ground to the saltwater anyway.
