I've dealt with a lot of starter issues on vary vehicles in the past but never anything like this. The 01 has 217K on the clock and has been cranking perfectly. This evening I cranked it to unhook a trailer and it first didn't do anything. After a couple tried it cranked over a bit but went I let off the ignition it kept cranking for maybe 7 or 8 seconds. Hummmm..... I got a 1/2 inch wrench and popped the hood so I could quickly pull the battery clamps if it did it again. Next try it cranked normal. So I unhooked and pulled up to the house. Shut it down and tried it again. It cranked fine, but this time turning off the switch only shut off, the fuel starter kept going. So I quickly pulled the battery clamps and now it sits. I thinking (and hoping) it is a bad starter relay but before I start throwing parts at it I wanted to see what you guys thought. Thx.

As mentioned above, you likely need new contacts in the solenoid. When they get burned up they start to stick together once in a while and keep on cranking. I usually just buy my kits from the Fostertruck link JR posted. Have a look around the site, Larry Buck has a lot of other parts that can come in handy as well.
