Well guys if you read the post on my little run-away 600, I have the truck back.

I picked it up yesterday when I got back into town. The pedal feels much softer than it did originally.

The one thing that really has me confused is the RPM drop that I saw before this whole mess started.

When I would come to a stop, my rpm's would drop to 550/600, then pop back to 725/750. With this new assembly it does not do it any longer.

Is there a connection or just a fluke?

I told my dealer I was a little worried about the high rpms during this ordeal, and said that I was worried about the turbo going to hell.

In all reality, the truck goverened out and there was no harm, but I thought I would tell him just incase.

He offered me the 5/100,000 bumper to bumper, $0 deductable warranty for cost. Cost is $1080.

List was around $2800. I took the deal and went merrily on my way.

For those of you who wanted to know where the connection for the cable is, I am still unsure. The mechanic that did the work was not in.

Glad to here you got everything worked out, now back to business, get that va pressure box on and let us know how that works with the other one.

Stacking

GWoody,

I have both boxes in place. However, I am waiting for the switch to get here before I try them. I just have the level II on right now.

I want the ability to turn the Level I down to 50% or off.

I expect it here today.

I know they work indendently very well. I just need to have the controll to feel safe.

Warranty

klenger,

That's what I thought as well. Heck, with these trucks it doesn't take long to rack up a $1000 bill.

I figure if I have 1 problem it pays for itself.

Plus I like the no questions asked approach on the service. There is never a question on what is covered.

Eric, where does the level 1 plug in at, will the switch be like the one we have on the duration box?

Level I

GWoody,

The level I is physically identical to the Level II. Same box, same switch, same hook-up. The programming is the only difference.

Danny is getting me a pigtail connector to run both boxes at once. Until then I will:

1. Connect the stock ecm connector to the input on the level I.

2. Connect the out on level I to in to the in on the level II.

3. Connect the out on the level II to the ECM.

So, you will only be able to run one at a time, pressure or duration till you get the special pigtail, is this correct. When will you get the special wire, I'm really hoping this pressure cools the egt down some.

Series

GWoody,

When you run them in series they will both work at one time. The only reason for the pigtail is so the clip does not stick out as far.

The egt's are the main reason I am trying this. I have spoke to Doug (DLeno) about the temp decrease he is seeing, and I am hoping the 600 has the same results.

I plan on haveing the level II at 50% and the level I at 50/100 as desired.

Note:

By the way, Geno's finally got the Dipricol white faced gauges out (just got it ups).

Let's see, Level 1 set @ 100% & Level 2 set @ %50, sounds like a good test to me. I will be patiently waiting for the results.

This is my first post, and my first Cummins. I have driven many, but this is the first one that is all mine. EEngel mentions the RPM drop to 600 then popping back up to 750. My truck also does this. I noticed the first day I had it. Does anybody else's truck do this?

Welcome SBrogden... . take that question and start a new thread with it. It would make for some good conversation. George

Rev

SBrogdon,

First off, welcome to the group. There are some VERY smart and friendly people here. They are always willing to help.

As for the REV question,

I was part of a thread a few months back that was talking about the drop down in rpm's. There were a fair number of people that are experiencing the same thing.

I came to the conclusion that it was no big deal.

It just struck me as odd that after having the throttle assembly replaced it was no longer present.
