I am planning on getting the truck painted later this year and will get rid of the aluminum running boards. I want to add the fiberglass or plastic running boards that run from the front fender all the way to the rear bumper. I have seen numerous 2nd gens with these installed. Anyone know where to get them?

Thanks, Scott

Grizzly,

The ones I have seen look more like ground effects. They taper up to the rear bumper. They follow the lower body line from the front fender all the way to the rear.

I pitched my aluminum ones also, if you click on the "Photo Gallery" over on the left under my name, you can see what I did to mine, I love em. .

Don,

Thats what I am talking about on your 97 with the exception that they dont follow the the fenders.

Ok I now have an example to go with. Issue #55 page 104 Reward/High Mileage , member Dan Coffman has exactly what I am talking about on his truck.

i think the ones your referring to are(were) made by mopar, i had a hard time locating them 3 or 4 years ago. have to check all the dealers. and i ended up having to paint them inventory#ad

Richterno,

Close, as I stated in my last post I found a picture of what I am looking for. Now locating a source is another thing

Forrest,

Did I think of something fugly? I am open to ideas. My current diamond plate running boards are a pain to keep bright. I like the protection that running boards offer and something easy and simple to maintain would be nice.

those ground defects just have never done it for me... I'm sure you've seen similar type running boards on two tone half ton chevy's and dodges running around Irving, right? ;)

I agree on wanting to get rid of the diamond plate boards, but I'd look for something tubular if you just gotta have them.

I think the ones Grizzly posted look pretty decent actually.

I'm kindof an anti-running board guy, so take what I say w/ a big grain of salt. everyone has their own taste

SHobbs, I looked up the picture of Dan Coffman's truck and they look like the ones in this picture . . . is this what you're after?

Vaughn,

Yes sir it is. Those be it. Now where to find them, lol.

Forrest,

I got a chance to see a dually exactly like mine the other day with those running boards and it looked great. I am also considering this was well but I think it may be too high. It's from Herrin Haulers in East Texas

mine came painted but they were not the right color, i had to order the back half from a dealer in CO and the fronts came from one in WA. they stopped make them a long time ago.
