Hi, I am receiving my '05 3500 Dually next week and would like recomendations for running boards. I would like the full board, stainless with maybe rubber step runners. Also, I would like full kick out at the front of the dual fender.

I would appreciate if you have pictures and contact info for the type of boards I am looking for. This will help me to order them without seeing them and have them here for the trucks arrival.

Thanks in advance!

Putco Boss Boards. All stainless with rubber step strips, wide sides for more bling and a good area to mount some extra amber alumination. They spread out to match the dually fender and have pieces to go on the back of the fender to finish it off. VERY STURDY. I'm allmost 400lbs and they don't even break a sweat when I stand on 'em to wash the windshield. A little pricey but well worth it. Here is a pic of a second gen to give you an idea of what they look like. Call Haisley Machine, i'm sure Patty can set you up with a set of them at a fair price. Haisley Machine

J&J Enterprises stainless boards.

Pluses: Very (very) high quality stainless boards, look very good.

Minuses: Mounting instructions for bed boards. Seems like they

could have done better engineering on the bed boards, but overall

I'm VERY pleased with them.

Good luck and happy hunting :)

Also check out the Stull boards. They have a few different options on their boards. Most of the boards I've seen look too honking big, made out of either 3" round tube or flat stock with a 3" face. Stull and I think J&J both have 1 1/2" tube boards, makes them look a little sleeker. The larger boards look better on lifted rigs and for us pavement pounders the smaller ones look beter.

I have the Welmore on my duelly and they have the kickouts to get to the bed. No drill and the price is right. Got mine at everythingoffroad.com

For the money I picked Luverne Stainless Steel running boards and box boards which flare to fit the dually bubbles. I looked at all of then including Putco which are very nice, but far to costly. I got a good price from Truckaccessorizer.com in Iowa. They have an 800 toll free, ask for Lynn. See will treat you right. It took me about a day to install. Installation was tough, instruction were good, not great. If you want I can send you some pics or ask Lynn, she has pics on my dually. Good luck, Grizzly

Put the black anodized DeeZee Guardian running boards on my 2001 and have a new set ready to put on my 2005, when it arrives. I wish they made the step for the bed, in the same style, but haven't found a source for that. :)

Gentemen, Thanks for the input

I have decided to go with Putco Master Bosses. They are more expensive, but I like the way they look. When my truck gets delivered I will post pics here.

Thanks again for all the info.

J&J. Prepare to spend lots of $$$, however. If you put 'em on yourself to try and save, you'll be sorry, LOL! If you can afford them, they are the best. They are miserable to try and install. Throw out the instructions and hone your fabrication skills if you're stubborn. I love the way the J&J's look, but I'll never install them on my own again.

I couldn't agree any more. The J&J's look great but they have lousy install destructions. I read a thread similar to mine before I bought them and that guy was dead nuts on. "8 hours for the first side, 4 hours for the second side. 1 very sore neck and a new Milwaukie close quarters drill. I would still do it again knowing what I know now. They turned out beautiful and I saved several hundred dollars on the install.

I have the Putco Master Boss boards including Box Boards and think they are the best looking of any boards I've seen. They have a 4" circular S. S. outer edge. They are also the most expensive I looked at. I haven't seen another truck with these boards.

I know you said you want full stainless running boards, but I have a set of the AMP research powersteps. They hide when your not using them and pop out when you open the door. They keep your lines nice and won't get ripped off by rocks because they sit flush with the undercarriage. THis may not be what you looking for, but everyone who has seen mine has said they want to get a set, so I thought I'd let you know about them. You can check em out here.....

SAck,

Thanks for the link... Looks likea neat product, but I need the full board so I can climb up on it to get stuff out of the box.

Cheers, Bill

Midnight,

Thanks for posting the pic of your J&J running boards. That is exactly the type I have been holding out for and what I have been looking for since I've had the truck. I don't like the look of round tubes and I don't like the square thick box look of the Putco boss boards. Unfortunately, the only place I have seen J&J running boards is on Ford trucks. And I don't want to have to talk to Ford. :D
