2017 3500 DRW 4x4. After a year of ABS warning lights coming and going, finally had the ABS pump replaced and cured the problem. At some point in that time frame, I replaced the batteries and also disconnected them to clear the memory of the ABS module to help isolate the problem. At that time the running hours was at about 1200. The idle time running remained the same and did not reset to zero. Is there a way to restore the running time to what it should be, 1600 hours now? Thanks for any input.

my 18 2500 engine hours reset to zero last summer. i took it to dealer for warranty on something else, and asked them to fix the hour meter. they said ram is " aware " of this issue, and is working on a " fix " - and the hours are still being counted accurate in the vehicles computer... no idea is this is true, or if they just didnt want to work on the issue. good luck comrade. cheers! :)

The ECM counts seconds of "on time" so you could convert it to hours if you have a scanner that can read it besides wi-Tech.

Chris, It's always easier to remember a question after you leave, but I'm thinking to ask them: OK, please pull total engine numbers for me, idle, driving and total. In my career, the question can sometimes reveal the truth or otherwise. I'm pretty sure I'm at risk to say all my info is intact on display. I'll let you know if mine takes a dump.

Cheers, Ron

AlfaOBD does allow you to correct the hour meters, which is helpful if you have upgraded or replaced your cluster. I'm looking to find an upgrade cluster that has more gauges visible without being in a sub menu. With AlfaOBD I'd be able to write VIN, Hours and mileage to match the truck. Would take pic to have as proof of when and why done, just in case an issue was to develop!
