Factory Running Boards

Today, I saw factory installed running boards on a Ram 1500 on the lot of a local dealer. The brackets supporting the running boards were only attached to the back side of the rocker panels and used studs coming from the sheetmetal out through the brackets, not screws/bolts. These running boards matched the body lines perfectly and were wide and sturdy. Is the sheet metal reinforced on the inside of the panel? Can these boards be used on a Ram 2500 not factory equipped with these running boards? Does anyone have a part number?

the mopar steps are nice as are the westins and others ,but they are all pricy,. I found a very nice set made by a company called Hunter, polished stainless steel for quad cab 03 2500 delivered to my door in 5 days for less than $ 235. 00,,website :: www.popularlink.com



very easy to install, about 45 minutes or so, no drilling , very sturdy

I have my third diesel with the aluminum running boards with mud flaps. They protect the truck from loose rocks and I have seen no loss of MPG with them. I also weighed them and I can replace the stock tailgate with the new running boards and a new flow thru tailgate for the same weight (50#).
