Runs good when cold but...

after it gets warmed up it doesn't have any power. Like having to shift back down to 5th gear kind of no power. It's an '03 6 speed, 175,xxx miles. With or without Smarty doesn't matter. No codes. The lift pump was dead, put a new one on, no difference. Hard telling how long he ran with the dead pump. Injectors are fresh from Scheids. Starts instantly, oil level does not rise. Well get 25psi boost but no power with that boost. Have searched the forums and found nothing. Ideas??

Does the engine feel like it is laboring when warm, with the 25 psi boost? Is it possible the drive train is dragging when warm, or brakes not releasing?

Wait until engine is cold,Then Unplug coolant temp sensor, it should ramp idle for 1 second then engage the fan take an drive ASAP to see if its electronic or mechanical, YOU will throw 2-4 codes and peg the temp gage, drive it anyways and report Back. You will need to call Me with the results I will be away form the computer for most of Today. 763-228-7121.

@Nick: yes, the engine just won't produce power when warm. If it were the drivetrain or brakes holding it back something would smell or have broken by now.

@Todd: tried unplugging the coolant sensor, no difference.

Did the cross over tubes get changed with injectors? Maybe a re-torque of crooss over tubes and diligently paying attention to detail is in order.

Yep. . this is my guess also,the mating surface at injector / Tube MUST be perfect. If they are to lose the engine will start then die or Not start or lose Pressure (Under TQ). . over TQ they will wrap when warm and lose pressure or NO power.

Thanks Cerb and Todd, I have considered that possibility also. Was trying to eliminate items that are easier to deal with.
