Does anyone else have rust spots all over the rear bumper?

This is in the Dry West Country, how about you poor folks in the East?

If you do, what are you doing about it or what should I do about it?

Thanks

Jeez, I thought I lived in a damp area! I haven't got any kind of rust (yet?). The chrome on my bumpers isn't exactly show quality though. Maybe you could have it re-chromed? It would look better than new if you did. Also, I think we have a 1 year warranty on our so called "bright work". Maybe Dodge will replace it if it's less than a year old?

It will be a year on May 6th, so I will have to get in there and see what they can do for me.

I didn't know they had such a warranty,

Thanks,

I had rust developing in several spots on my front bumper with the truck being less that a month old! I took it to the dealer body shop and he ordered me a new bumper with no questions asked. They installed it a couple of weeks later at no charge. :D

Really Bob?? I have several small rust spots too but never thought to bring it to the dealer's attention.

My buddy told me the fix is to rub the rust spots with aluminum foil and then use metal polish on the whole thing and the rust should not come back. I am going to give it a try.

i have small amount of rust, tried everything toget of it. nothing seems to work, it comes back in a couple of days. i think the only way to get rid of it is with a new bumper

I learned about the brite work warranty when DC denied me coverage for the pealing chrome on the grill of my 93. It was about 18 months old when it turned to crap.

I have some rust on the inside of the rear bumper, Im going to put some bedliner spray on it. Ill do the whole inside of the bumper. If that doesnt work Ill call the dealer.

If you have out of warranty rust to work on, use Never-Dull, then a coat of car wax. My son went to work on the wheels on my 97, and they look as good as new unless you get down on your knees looking for pits.
