Shouln't do it...wouldn't be prudent

I've seen lots of post on this in the past. The short answer is undercoating or using Z-Bar will void your anti-corrosion warranty.

Wouldn't do it

I didn't and wouldn't do it. I undercoated cars for most of local dealers years ago. Undercoat can not reach all areas, therefore when water is collected between undercoat on body parts it will rust. Leave it alone. I have seen vehicles undercoated rusted out and the ones that I didn't undercoat did very well.

What I would do is as soon you take delivery on that new baby, grab some good black paint and paint all areas that dc missed. I plan on doing this to mine this winter. One good rust proof method is to take one gallon kerosene mixed to one qt engine oil and spray it with a spray gun. There are guys also using transmission fluid with same results. After snow storms, just wash all the salt from under vehicle as soon possible, I did this last winter. This winter she will be garaged:D :D

Wonder why they're calling me shineboy:rolleyes:

diesel DOG - don't let the stealer do it for you. They charge an arm and a leg for it. Check out Krown Rustproofing. They spray on some kind of oil that is "environmentally friendly" and this stuff "seeps" in to all the seams. You have to get it reapplied each year and you never pay more than the cost of the first application. Up here in Canada I paid $120. 00

This stuff works! I looked at a car that was about 15 years old getting the treatment and there was no rust on this car anywhere! The owner of the franchise was telling me that some of the utility companies were getting their trucks done because due to budget restraints they were not replacing them as frequently and wanted to keep them looking good for a longer period.

This stuff has been written up in various journals and compared to the other rustproofing, came out on top.

Usual disclaimers!

I had mine undercoated by ZEBART. He had a whole lot full of Dodge trucks and cars. When I asked about it, he told me that they undercoated all of the cars for the dealer across the street. Sure enough, he had several on the lifts doing the undercoating while I was there. As it turned out, this fellow was a business parter with my brother, so I'm sure he was telling me the truth. So, are all of their anti-corrosion warranties void?

In the autobody trade we make sure the inside of the rocker panels are coated w/body wax, this is a non hardning material that is applied w/a shoults gun & wond. I truley believe the non hardening material is the key. Usually the different cavities are axcessable via a body plug of some sorts. Just go to your nearest autobody supply store & ask for a corrosion protectant that is of a wax make-up & applicator . (3M) is what I use, hope this helps---Proflow

Good choice Diesle Dog, also make sure there is another opening at the other end, not only to see you made it all the way through, but to let excess excape. dont be afraid to apply alot of this product though. When it starts dripping all over your freshly washed floor---your done----Proflow

Zebart Question

Rambart:

I do believe the Zebart will void your Dodge rust through warranty. Dodge isn't real big about warranting the performance of other companies products. Doesn't Zebart should have its own corrosion warranty though?

Finally, we all make warranty decisions everyday on our trucks. I've made several that I'm sure Dodge will not be helping me out on in the future.

Cheers, Wiredawg
