Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
Kudos to my dealer. I was in for an oil change and tire rotation last week. Had been noticing rust spots on my bumper coming from under the plastic trim pieces.
Truck is only 18 months old, but out of 3yr x 36k mile warranty on milage at 39000 miles. .
Not sure what mechanism they billed it under, but they replace the steel bumper section and only charged me a $25 co-pay.
thought they treated me fairly and maybe you can use this message as a precedent if you have a similar issue.
