I have the big chrome mirrors on my '95 and the 4 bolts that hold it onto the door look terrible. I have replaced them with what D/C called "stainless" but within a year they were brown too and getting rust run lines on my paint. Is there any reason why I couldn't use just regular stainless steel bolts? or does someone have a better idea? I am having my truck repainted soon because of the sandy red paint that my regional guy says he has never heard of... :(

Thanks for the help guys!

I've bought stainless bolts from hardware stores and then buffed them on a buffing wheel (used an elec. drill to run it) I got them really mirror-bright. They stayed that way for 10 years until I sold that truck!
