Driving thru Siloam Springs, AR yesterday in 3rd gear about 1200rpm my '99 suddenly died, I throttled it 2-3 times, no response... ... ... ... . cutting across traffic I coast into a parking lot still in gear and against the engine.

When I clutched the truck was still running but the Check Engine light was on.

Nothing changed other than that.

After picking up my inline 6 cylinder Land Cruiser engine I was headed home again when it hiccuped once more (died but started again before I could do anything).

I had just under a 1/4 tank of fuel at the time.

What does the majority say happened to my truck?

I've got a buddy who's bringing over a fuel pressure gauge in a day or two to see what the lift pump pressure is.

I just bought Geno's banjo fittings but haven't gotten them installed or a gauge to mount on it yet.

Thanks

NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR!

That isn't good news. Going to tap the fuel pressure tomorrow after I get home and see what the Lift Pump is doing. Other than that I guess I could take it in and have the CODES checked on it.

Any other way except having a dealership hook it up??

Thanks

Fuel Pressure readings

Installed the Geno's large port banjo fittings tonite along with a grease gun hose, valve and 30# gauge on the outlet side of the fuel filter, from the top of the Geno's fitting.

Fuel Pressure

Idle (850rpm)... ... ... ... ... ... ... . 10. 5 lbs

2K rpm... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... approx 7 lbs

The check engine light isn't on any more either.

Do these pressure readings look okay? Or should they be higher?

Thanks

Normaly you want about 14-16 psi Idle and not lower than like 10 or so cruise and not lower than 5-7 WOT.

I have a pusher 7# Pump and a Mech. Adj. regulator between the OEM pump and the filter with a return to the Pre-filter so even the pusher has a small head pressure... I have 11-14 psi constant, no matter what I do... WOT or idle... . due to the regulator setting. I can set this higher or lower whenever I want.
