Max Brake solution & question

Is a WDH needed?

So last week I had a mobile rv service come out to my house to install a new foam gasket under the ac unit on the roof. I didn't think there would be any problems with this. The guy is not up there more than 2 minutes and said there is a major problem up here. So I went up there to see what the problem was. Turns out that just on the outer edge of the ac about 3" away the roof is rotten. I almost put my hand through the roof. I asked the guy how much to fix it and told me it would be about 10K to do it since it would be a complete tear off and redo. I was upset and did some research because there had to be a cheaper option. Long story short: I am going with RV ARMOR. It is half the price of a rubber roof and is guaranteed for life. I have watched their videos and seems to be a very good product.

I agree. When the time comes, I will use them also. They have been in business long enough that former customers would be complaining if the repair work didn't hold up. I've never read any complaints about them.

My daughter and son-in-law had an RV Armor roof installed on their Mobile Suites. They really seem to like it.

Glad to hear the good comments on RV ARMOR. Cant wait for mine to start. They are 4 weeks out for doing mine. Had to put a tarp over the ac for now.:)

What does something like this cost? Ballpark.

Update: I found a cost of $120/ft - is that about right?

I think they go by the model and they get the specs from there. Mine is going to be just over 5K when done. Scheduled to be on the 27th of this month. A lot sooner than I was expecting.

Thanks. I also submitted a request to them and got a quote of $130 per foot (for my Laredo it was 35ft. X $130/ft = $4,550)

Please write up your impressions once the job is done. I am very much interested in your thoughts. Thanks!

I will try to take pics of before and after.

Bump. So what ever happened with this ?

Dave

If this is a question for me, I got a quote for about $4500 and decided I am not yet ready to take the plunge. My roof is still in good condition. Once it gets trashed or needs to be replaced, I will prob go with this system.

Not for you but for Dan V. Last I read it was happening in 4 weeks and not a peep since so I was wondering the final price, quality of work and product. Thanks for responding tho.

I just used RV Armor do their stuff on our 39 ft'er....was really pleased with the work! They installed here at Placer Co Fairgrounds...Louis did the work....highly recommend. I think the cost was right at $5000 compared to $8000-$10000 dealer repair!

if you are able to turn wrenches, it's really not hard to replace a sheet of plywood, i cut into mine when it had a leak and rebuilt the whole thing. it's more time consuming that anything, then i used eturnabond on the seams, the roofing ply was reattached to the plywood with contact cement.
