RV park near Santa Rosa Ca /Ocean?

looking for rv park 1 night near santa rosa fairgrounds



then west to ocean

As I live 15 miles away from Santa Rosa, I never look for RV parks there. There is not any place close to the fair grounds I know of and I wouldn't stay in that area anyway, lots of "stuff' goes on around there. There is a KOA just north of Petaluma thats about 15 miles south of the Fair Grounds but traffic can be pretty brutal getting into Santa Rosa. KOA phone # is (707)763-1492. In Windsor, north of SR about 10 miles, there is Windsor Land. Close to the Freeway so it won't be real quiet. Phone (707) 838-4882. Some of the trailer parks on Santa Rosa Ave. have spots for overnighters but I don't know any thing about them.



As for the Ocean, there are 3 or 4 good parks at Bodega Bay. Doran Beach is our favorite, doesn't have any hookups though. Westside park is on the west side of the bay, no hookups here either. These are County parks, same phone # for both. (707)875-3540. Both have good views of the bay. If you stay here, make sure you take the west side road to the ocean overlook on the point. There is a state park about a mile north of the bay on Hwy 1, not sure of the hookups. If I remember right, the name is "The Dunes" State Park( hope thats right!). (707)875-3483. As you leave town headed up toward the State Park there is a private RV park on the left side of the road about 1/2 mile north of town. Bodega Bay RV Park (707)8753701. Hope this helps.



Oh yea, HWY 12 is the main road in front of the fair grounds. Take that road west, go straight through Sebastopol and follow the signs to Bodega Bay. easy to get there. The Doran Beach turn is just before you get to the bay, will go to the left. (Take the next road after the golf course turnoff. )
